Mi primer día en París comenzó con dos inauguraciones que, por supuesto, no me quise perder.

Hoy, les presento Good Food, Good Friends, Good Times, el evento que se llevó a cabo en la pequeña pero concurrida galería y artstore, L'Attrape Rêve. Ese sábado de primavera, con el clima perfecto, música y bebida, la atracción especial fue la pintada en vivo de cuatro talentosos artistas: Ugo Gattoni (ya hablamos de él aquí), McBess, KOA y Ghislain Garlin.

Si estás en París, no olvides visitar algún evento. ¡La ciudad desborda arte!

My first day in Paris began with two opening exhibitions that certainly, I didn't want to miss.
Today I present Good Food, Good Friends, Good Times, the exhibition that took place at the small but crowded gallery and artstore, L'Attrape Rêve. This Saturday of spring, with the perfect weather, music and drinks, the special attraction was the live painting show of four talented artists: Ugo Gattoni (we've already talked about him here), McBess, KOA and Ghislain Garlin.
If you are in Paris, don't forget to visit an exhibition. The city overflows art!

Lovely by Helen Austin

Con un recurso tan simple como un álbum de recortes, el director Joe Osborn creó el video de Lovely, bellísima canción interpretada por la compositora canadiense Helen Austin. El video, filmado en un sólo día, contiene más de mil imágenes que se recrearon usando letras y fotografías de 20 revistas diferentes. Lovely está incluida en el álbum Always Be A Unicorn, lanzado a fines del año pasado.

With a simple clipping album, the director Joe Osborn created Lovely, a beautiful song sung by Canadian singer Helen Austin. The video shooted in only one day, has more than a thousand images made with letters and photographies of 20 different magazines. Lovely is included in the album 'Always Be A Unicorn', launched last year.

Les 3 soeurs

Le livre de recettes des 3 Soeurs (El libro de recetas de Las 3 Hermanas) es una adaptación papel del blog que lleva el mismo nombre (Les 3 soeurs). Este libro está destinado a los estudiantes que, a menudo, no tienen tiempo de cocinar. ¿Cuáles son los condimentos básicos que debemos comprar cuando nos mudamos solos? ¿Qué material adquirir?  ¿Cómo economizar en las compras? ¿Qué se puede cocinar en 5 minutos? Esas y muchas otras más son las preguntas a las cuales responde el libro, que busca brindar una ayuda a los estudiantes y motivarlos a cocinar. Como si fuera poco, este libro de recetas básicas viene ilustrado.

'Le livre de recettes des 3 Soeurs' (The book of recipes of The 3 Sisters) is an adaptation of the blog with the same name (Les 3 soeurs). This book is destined to the students that usually don't have time to cook. Which are the basic spices that we must buy when we are moving alone? What material we need to buy? How we can save money when we go to the supermarket? What can be cooked in 5 minutes? The book answers these and more questions, to bring help to the students and motivate them to cook. In addition, this book of basic recipes is also illustrated.

Vhils - Fragmentos

¿Qué hay más allá de la superficie? ¿Qué es lo que moldea y da vida a las ciudades? Vhils es un artista urbano que, desde hace más de una década, no para de hacerse estas preguntas. Y siempre llega a una misma respuesta: sus habitantes.

Es por eso que, para realizar sus intervenciones callejeras, talla muros con un cincel y taladros, y elige modelos reales que plasma (moldea) en las paredes de las ciudades que visita.

Hoy compartimos el video Fragmentos, filmado en las laderas de Botafogo y Copacabana, ubicadas en Río de Janeiro, Brasil, mientras el artista realizaba un par de intervenciones. Vhils lo acaba de presentar, con motivo de la inauguración de su expo en Clark Art Center de la misma ciudad.

What is beyond surface? What shapes and gives life to the cities? Vhils is an urban artist that ask himself these questions for more than a decade. And he always gets the same answer: their people.
To make his street art interventions, he carves walls with a chisel and drills, and chooses real models that he sculpts in the walls of the cities that he visits.
Today we share the video Fragments, shooted in the hillsides of Botafogo and Copacabana, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while the artist made some interventions. Vhils has just presented it for the opening of his exhibition at Clark Art Center, in the same city.

El video que compartimos hoy en Casablock, fue ilustrado y animado por el artista Daryl Waller, y la canción interpretada por el compositor Darren Hayman. El resultado es Henrietta Maria, una preciosa canción incluida en The Violence, el último álbum de Hayman, que combina dulces melodías e invita a hacer un repaso por la historia de la Guerra Civil Inglesa.

The video that we share today at Casablock, was illustrated and animated by the artist Daryl Waller, and the song played by the composer Darren Hayman. The result is Henrietta Maria, a beautiful song included in The Violence, Hayman's last album, that combines sweet melodies and invites to discover the history of the English Civil war.

Genesis es una nueva animación recientemente presentada en el Festival Pictoplasma 2013 en Berlín (ver post sobre Pictoplasma 2011 aquí). Los creadores son dos diseñadores gráficos argentinos, Francisco Miranda y Guillermo Daldovo, quienes dieron forma a este video que relata las etapas de creación de la vida. Allí, una pequeña partícula se pasea a través de distintas entidades para darle vida. Una maravilla de video, no dejen de verlo.

Hace unos meses, los hermanos australianos que conforman la banda Atlas Genius, se asociaron a Vimeo para hacer una selección de sus directores favoritos e invitarlos a hacer sus propias interpretaciones visuales de la canción Trojans. El resultado fueron 4 videos elegidos por la banda. Hoy les traemos el primer video, hecho por Tyler Nicolson, con animaciones en plastilina, en donde un solitario hombre disfruta de la compañía de coloridos bloques de arcilla.

The result were 4 videos chosen by the band. Today we present you the first claymation video by director Tyler Nicolson, where a lonely man enjoys the colorful company of shifting clay blocks.
